LAST GAME: Medicine Hat travelled to Lethbridge in what would be Logan Barlage’s final appearance at the Enmax Centre in Lethbridge. Medicine Hat got out to the start they wanted when Rhett Parsons put the Tabbies on the board in the first period. Brayden Boehm made the lead 2-0, before the Hurricane would storm back and score five unanswered goals. Josh Van Mulligen, a Medicine Hat Product pulled the Tigers to within two late in the third, but that’s as close as they’d come as the Hurricanes answer back with a goal of their own. Make the final 6-3.
MILESTONES: Tigers Forward Logan Barlage notched his 100th career WHL assist against his former team, the Lethbridge Hurricanes on February 26th in Lethbridge, and forward Carter Chorney played in his 200th career WHL Game on the same evening. Captain Daniel Baker played in his 200th career WHL game on January 21st in Saskatoon. Owen MacNeil appeared in his 100th career WHL game vs the Prince Albert Raiders the following night. Garin Bjorklund needs seven appearances to reach his 100th in the WHL and Noah Danielson needs just three games to break the 100 game milestone.
BROADCASTER TO WATCH: Bob Ridley called his first game for the Medicine Hat Tigers in the fall of 1970. Over the next 51 years Bob would call over 4000 games for the Tigers and drive the team’s bus more than 3 million kilometers. Bob has been witness to all five of the Tigers Western Hockey League Championships and two Memorial Cup Championships. To say that Bob is an icon is an understatement, mention the name Ridz to anyone in the hockey world and they’ll surely crack a smile and have a story to tell. Bob’s impact on the game of hockey has been incredible. We are honoured to be able to call him our own and honour him as he so rightly deserves.
