VS SWIFT CURRENT: Tonight is the second half of a home and home series and will be the eighth and final meeting this season between the Broncos and the Tigers. The Tigers hold a record of 2-5-0-0 vs the Broncos this season, with the pair having split the previous two meetings. A 2-0 shutout win for the Tigers in Medicine Hat on March 5th, then a 5-1 loss last night in Swift Current. The Broncos are 22-30-5-2 which is good enough for 51 points and a share of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Mathew Ward, a product of Kamloops, BC is leading the way offensively for the Broncos with 22 goals and 29 assists in 55 games this season.

LAST GAME: Medicine Hat travelled to Swift Current for the first half of a home and home series with the Broncos who are fighting for their playoff lives. Garin Bjorklund was again spectacular, stopping chance after chance from the Broncos weapons. Eventually the Broncos were able to find a way past the Tigers netminder and came away with a 5-1 win. Andrew Basha scored his third of his rookie campaign on the powerplay, with the assists going to Patton and Basha. The Tigers went 1/4 on the powerplay and only gave up two shorthanded opportunities.
MILESTONES: Tigers Forward Logan Barlage notched his 100th career WHL assist against his former team, the Lethbridge Hurricanes on February 26th in Lethbridge, and forward Carter Chorney played in his 200th career WHL Game on the same evening. Captain Daniel Baker played in his 200th career WHL game on January 21st in Saskatoon. Owen MacNeil appeared in his 100th career WHL game vs the Prince Albert Raiders the following night. Rhett Parsons, Oren Shtrom, Oasiz Wiesblatt, Tyler MacKenzie, Pavel Bocharov, Teague Patton and Brayden Boehm, Ashton Ferster and Reid Andresen have each recently played in their 60th career games.
PLAYER TO WATCH: Garin Bjorklund was originally drafted by the Tigers in the first round of the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft, 21st overall. Since being drafted by the Tigers, the Grande Prairie, AB product has appeared in 90 career games for the Tigers, including a career high 42 appearances this season. Bjorklund is highly athletic, able to get from one side of the net to the other staggeringly fast, often making opposing shooters look to the sky in disbelief. Garin was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the sixth round of the 2020 National Hockey League Entry Draft and is looking to earn himself a professional contract.
