Blake Draughon enters his fifth season as Silvertips athletic trainer, responsible for overseeing the medical and health needs of Silvertips players, pursuing the objective of injury prevention and minimal recovery time.
The native of Lubbock, Texas previously served the Dallas Stars in the organization’s development camp in July 2014, when he assisted the Stars in rehabilitation of post-surgical patients, medical and nutritional coverage of practices, and assisted with camp physicals. Draughon previously served in hands-on and administrative multi-sport roles with Plainview (Tx.) High School and Texas Tech University and started his career as a student athletic trainer with Texas Tech during 2010-11, handling rehabilitation, medical, nutritional, and facilities maintenance for the Red Raiders football, baseball, and track programs.
Certified in CPR/AED for professional rescuers with the American Red Cross, he graduated from Texas Tech in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Sport Science and earned his Masters of Science degree in Athletic Training from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in 2015.
Draughon resides in Everett, WA and is affiliate with IRG Physical & Hand Therapy.
