Mason’s OT Winner Lifts Silvertips to Victory
Brady Mason’s overtime game winning goal sparked a roar from the Everett Events Center crowd as the Everett Silvertips defeat the Tri-City Americans 5-4 in overtime to improve their pre-season record to 2-0-2.
Silvertips defenseman Ivan Baranka made his first appearance in the pre-season and made a major contribution with a goal and an assist. Zach Hamill and Tyler Dietrich also added a goal and an assist in the victory. In goal, Brandon Heatherington and Leland Irving combined for the win by making 29 saves. The Silvertips outshot the Americans by a margin of 34-33 in the hockey game. On the power play, Tri-City went 1 for 5 and the Silvertips went 1 for 3 on the extra man advantage.
The Silvertips will be back in pre-season action on Friday, September 17 when they battle the Seattle Thunderbirds at Olympic View Ice Arena in Mountlake Terrace. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
