Silvertips acquire Caine Wilke from Calgary Hitmen for Bode Laylin
EVERETT, Wash. — The Everett Silvertips have acquried forward Caine Wilke from the Calgary Hitmen along with a fourth-round pick in the 2028 WHL Draft in exchange for defenseman Bode Laylin.
Wilke, an ’08-born Saskatoon, SK native, was originally drafted by the Silvertips 20th-overall in 2023. Debuting on Dec. 17, 2023, he appeared in 51 games as a Silvertip accruing seven goals adn 12 assists. He was dealt to the Calgary Hitmen on Sep. 20, 2025 for a 2028 second-round pick and a 2026 fifth-round pick.
The 5-foot-8, 166-pound forward notched 15 goals with 28 assists for 43 points in 64 games in 2025-26, with an additional seven points in eight playoff appearances.
“We’re excited to bring Caine back into the fold,” commented general manager Mike Fraser. “His tenacity and creativity will bring us more offensive punch up front. He is already familiar with how we do things here and many of our players.”
Laylin, an ’07-born St. Michael, MN native, appeared in five games as a Silvertip with one assist.
