GAME RECAP: Tips win streak snapped in 4-1 loss at Medicine Hat
MEDICINE HAT, Albe. — The Everett Silvertips saw their three-game winning streak come to an end Saturday, as the Medicine Hat Tigers took a 4-1 victory at Co-Op Place.
Andrew Basha opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal at 15:25, tapping in a 2-on-1 pass from Tyler MacKenzie for an early Tigers lead. The Silvertips responded on the same powerplay, as Beau Courtney rifled a one-timer for his third of the season.
The score would hold until 1:27 into the third period as Hayden Harsanyi netted his first career goal from the slot to give Medicine Hat the lead. They added to it just 17 seconds later, with Bogdans Hodass providing the insurance. Hunter St. Martin tacked on an empty-netter to seal the win for the Tigers.
Seventeen-year-old netminder Ethan McCallum stopped 29 of 30 in the win, his first career victory for Medicine Hat. Tyler Palmer turned aside 27 of 30 in the loss.
Everett turns their attention to the Swift Current Broncos, completing this portion of the Central Division swing. Live coverage begins at 1:30 p.m. PT.
