Puck Drops on SubwaySuper Series Tomorrow
Regina, Saskatchewan – Players have come from across Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest United States for tomorrow’s Subway Super Series game as Team WHL will face Team Russia.
Team Russia is coming off a pair of losses to Team OHL including last night’s 6-3 loss in Sault Ste. Marie, ON. With Team Russia winning the first two games against the QMJHL, the Subway Super Series is tied at 2 games apiece heading into tomorrow night’s game at the Brandt Centre, with the puck dropping at 7:00pm.
Two members of the Regina Pats will play for Team WHL tomorrow night as Jordan Weal and Colton Jobke will put on the league colours and take to the home town Brandt Centre ice to face Team Russia.
The Subway Super Series luncheon, presented by Conexus Credit Union, is set to go today with Pats alumnus and former Edmonton Oilers and Philadelphia Flyers captain, Jason Smith as well as the head of the WHL Alumni Association and Hockey Night in Canada analyst Kelly Hrudey speaking to the packed house at the Radisson Plaza Hotel Saskatchewan.
Media availability for both Jason Smith and Kelly Hrudey will be at 11:40am at the Hotel Saskatchewan. Members of Team WHL attending the luncheon will not be made available to the media. After the luncheon, Team WHL will head to the rink and prepare for the upcoming game tomorrow night.
