Pats Look to Push Advantage in Game Two
Regina, Saskatchewan – The Regina Pats (1-0) and Swift Current Broncos (0-1) go again tonight with Game Two of their Eastern Conference Quarter-Final series at the Brandt Centre (7 p.m.) tonight. The Pats opened the series with a win last night, scoring three goals in the first period en route to the 4-2 victory. Pavel Padakin scored twice in 59 seconds to build up a 3-1 lead after the first and give the Pats all the offence they would need in the Game One victory. Daniel Wapple turned aside 35 shots to lead the way for the Blue and White. Tune into tonight’s game on 620 CKRM starting at 6:15 p.m.
Toe in the Water
Last night was the first WHL playoff experience for nine Pats players (Zborovskiy, Hilsendager, Cooper, Cole, Berg, Leschyshyn, Kroeker, Mortlock and Hobbs). Three players picked up points in their first outing with Cooper, Berg and Mortlock each earning assists.
The Experienced One
Pavel Padakin is the Pats’ runaway leader in playoff experience. The Kiev, Ukraine product has played 19 games in the post-season and led the way for the Blue and White last night with a pair of goals in the first period. Padakin has 8 points (3G, 5A) over his post-season career.
