Pat Chat February 24th
The Week That Was
It was a key week for the Blue and White as they looked to hold onto their advantage atop the East Division standings. The Pats opened the week with a 4-0 matinee win over the Brandon Wheat Kings with Daniel Wapple picking up his second shutout as a Pat. Wednesday, the team hit the snowy road for Saskatoon where Morgan Klimchuk netted a hat-trick and Logan McVeigh scored the late winner in a 4-2 victory. The biggest test came on the weekend when the Pats took on two teams listed in the CHL rankings. The Pats stopped the Victoria Royals’ streak of nine straight road wins by holding on for a 3-2 win. The next night saw the Queen City Kids lose their grip on a 4-2 third period lead, but come out on top in the shootout, 5-4, when Colby Williams ended it in the ninth round. Wapple stopped eight of nine shooters in the extra shots for the Pats’ fourth win of the week.
The Week Ahead

It’s the first half of an essential home and home between the Pats and Broncos. What’s New?
Closing in on a Spot
The Pats are within striking distance of clinching a playoff berth, and could conceivably book their ticket to the post-season this week. The Pats need just seven points combined between Regina wins or Red Deer losses to confirm their return to the post season.
