Klimchuk Returns in Matinee Against Brandon
Regina, Saskatchewan – The Regina Pats (30-18-4-3) take to the ice for a matinee matchup with the Brandon Wheat Kings (42-9-4-2) at the Brandt Centre (2 p.m.). It’s the seventh time the teams have met this year with the Pats holding a 3-3-0-0 record against the Wheat Kings. The last contest saw Brandon run away with an 8-3 victory. Braden Christoffer leads the Pats with eight points (3G, 5A) in six games against Brandon while Peter Quenneville features a similar eight points (2G, 6A) against Regina. Coming into tonight’s game, the Pats have dropped two straight after a 5-0 loss to Swift Current Friday. Brandon rolls in with points in fifteen straight. Tune into today’s game on 620 CKRM starting at 1:35 p.m.

Lead Up: Pats Flat in 5-0 Loss to Swift Current
The Pats couldn’t get much going after Jay Merkley tipped in the opening goal seven minutes into the game. The second period is when most of the damage happened with the Broncos tallying three times off the sticks of Colby Cave (2) and Tanner LeSann. Cave completed the hat-trick early in the third and Landon Bow made 44 saves for the 5-0 shutout.
Snowed Out
Rather than playing their third in four days, the Pats play their second game of this long weekend after they were forced to postpone Saturday’s game against Prince Albert. Poor visibility and road conditions forced Regina to turn back. The game will be rescheduled at a later date.
Klimchuk’s Return
Recently traded Pats’ star Morgan Klimchuk makes his return to the Brandt Centre for the first time since being dealt to Brandon. In his first game against the Pats, Klimchuk picked up two assists. The Calgary Flames prospect has 20 points (8G, 12A) in 17 games since joining the Wheat Kings.
