Jonathan Smart Gets NHL Camp Invite
Pats defenceman Jonathan Smart is among the 26 players invited to the Toronto Maple Leafs Rookie Tournament.
The tournament will run from September 8 to the 10th at the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto. The Leafs rookies will play against Montreal on Friday Sept 8th and Ottawa on Sunday the 10th.
Smart also attended Leafs Summer Development Camp in June and will join former teammate Adam Brooks at the rookie tournament.
Smart, in 67 games between the Pats and Kelowna Rockets last season, scored three goals and 25 assists for 28 points. The 18-year-old added a goal and an assist in the 2017 post-season.
The Kelowna, B.C. product finished the season at plus 37, 10th best in the entire WHL and 6th best among all defencemen.
Smart was acquired by the Pats in a trade with the Rockets in December of 2016.
