Blue and White Game Preview and Rosters
Regina, Saskatchewan – The Regina Pats’ 2014 Training Camp comes to a close this evening with the annual Blue and White Game at the Cooperators Centre at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for tonight’s game are available at the doors at $2 for general admission. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. this evening.
A pair of Regina Pats alumni will be on each bench for the Blue and White Game. Coaching Team Blue are Doug Trapp and Dyson Stevenson. Trapp played in 202 games for the Pats amassing 252 points while Stevenson was the team’s MVP for the 2013-14 Season and totaled 168 points in 252 games played. The guest coaches for Team White are Kelly Markwart and Garrett Mitchell. Markwart suited up for 121 games with the Pats and picked up 47 points in his WHL career while Mitchell currently plays for the Hershey Bears in the AHL after notching 112 points in 264 games in Regina.
The Pats carried 46 players from the scrimmage portion of Training Camp and 44 of those are in the lineup for the intrasquad game including prospects 2014 13th Overall pick Jordan Hollett, 2014 35th Overall pick Erik Gardiner and 2013 2nd Overall pick Sam Steel. The contest also offers an opportunity to see some of the strides made by returning players like Dryden Hunt, Kyle Burroughs and Connor Gay. The Pats’ 39th Overall selection in the 2014 CHL Import Draft, defenceman Sergey Zborovsky will also be in action. The Blue and White Game showcases a pair of forwards, Darcy DeRoose and Earl Webb, who came to Training Camp as invitees and impressed their way to the intrasquad game.
Coming out of the scrimmage portion of Training Camp, the Pats feature four 1994 born players, ten 1995 born players, seven 1996 born players, ten 1997 born players, nine 1998 born players and six 1999 born players still with the team.

The battle for roster spots is wide open coming out of the scrimmage portion of camp with prospects pushing returning veterans for slots on the exhibition roster. With an all-new coaching staff this season, returning players are feeling the pressure to put their best foot forward as Training Camp comes to a close.
The Pats first pre-season game comes at the Extreme Hockey Pre-Season Tournament August 28th (7:00 p.m.) against the Moose Jaw Warriors at the Cooperators Centre.
