Zborovskiy Named to Team Russia
Regina Pats defenceman and New York Rangers prospect Sergey Zborovskiy has been named to team Russia for the 2016 CIBC Canada Russia series.
Zborovskiy joins teammates Sam Steel, Austin Wagner and Connor Hobbs who will play for Team WHL in the series. The WHL portion will take place November 7th and 8th in Prince George and Edmonton.
Zborovskiy is a signed prospect of the Rangers, drafted in the third round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
The Moscow, Russia product, has one goal and eight points in nine games this season. He is second in the WHL at plus 17 on the year, behind only his teammate Chase Harrison.
The Pats continue the regular season Sunday, at home, against the Seattle Thunderbirds at 4 p.m. at the Brandt Centre.
