Vaughan twins reassigned to Regina
Regina, Sask. – Corbin and Jaxsin Vaughan are back in Regina after being reassigned from their respective NHL clubs, Monday.
Corbin comes back to the Pats after attending training camp with the LA Kings, while Jaxsin returns to Regina following training camp with the Anaheim Ducks. Both Vaughan twins were free-agent invites to NHL rookie camps on September 4, and moved onto main camp last week.
“That experience did a lot for me,” Corbin explained. “Just seeing what my game can do, and possibly strive to the next level. It was great to see all the older guys and how they have such a dialed routine. I learned how they prepare and get their body ready. Anything from a 15-minute practice to a game, they’re always doing something.”
“What a experience,” Jaxsin added. “It was great to get my feet wet in such a great spot. Their coaches and player development staff do a great job providing feedback, whether it was after or before practice. The biggest feedback they gave me was to get bigger, faster and stronger. It’s a mans game up there, so that’s something I’m looking forward to working on.”
The Vaughan’s, 18, finished their second season with the Pats in 2023-24 after completing their 16-year-old season with the club in 2022-23, where both played in 50+ games. Last season, Corbin has tallied eight points (4G-4A) in 33 games while his brother Jaxsin has picked up 25 points (15G-10A) in 59 contests. Hailing from Merritt, B.C., the twins were selected nine picks apart in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft with Jaxsin going 21st overall and Corbin 30th overall.
Meanwhile, Pats captain Tanner Howe made his NHL pre-season debut with the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday. He is in the lineup for tonight’s Penguins pre-season battle against the Buffalo Sabres.
