RECAP: Blades Defeat Pats 6-2
Regina, Sask. – The Saskatoon Blades defeated the Regina Pats 6-2 on Wednesday at the Brandt Centre.
The Pats and Blades were tied 2-2 midway through the third period before Saskatoon scored four unanswered goals, with one being an empty netter. Tanner Howe and Tye Spencer scored Regina’s only goals in the loss. Jordan Keller scored twice, while Zach Moore, William James and Rowan Calvert added singles for the Blades.

First Period

Second Period
1-0 Blades at 4:08 – Tyler Parr (2), assisted by Fraser Leonard & Ben Saunderson (4-on-4) // Leonard’s soft wrist shot from just inside the blue line was tipped by Parr and past Kelton Pyne to get the Blades on the board up 1-0 early in the second period.
1-1 Pats at 14:57– Tanner Howe (1), assisted by Zack Stringer & Tye Spencer (PP) // The Pats worked the puck around the offensive zone and Howe was able to bury a rebound past Evan Gardner to tie the contest up at 1-1.
Third Period
2-1 Blades at 5:11 – Jordan Keller (1), assisted by Colten Worthington // The original shot is repelled by Pyne but Keller was near the blue paint and was able to chip the puck past the outstretched goalie.
2-2 Pats at 5:38 – Tye Spencer (1), assisted by Borya Valis // Valis won a battle behind the Blades net. He then got the puck to Spencer in front and he made no mistake as he tucked the puck past Gardner tying the game just 27 seconds after the Blades took the lead.
3-2 Blades at 10:06 – Zach Moore (2), assisted by Ben Saunderson & Jordan Martin // Moore redirected a point shot past Pyne’s glove hand, giving the Blades a 3-2 lead midway through the third period.
4-2 Blades at 15:23 – William James (1), assisted by Morgan Tastad & Jayden Weins // Tastad’s point shot pinballed around the Pats end and Pyne stopped the initial shot but could not reach the rebound as James put it by the Pats goaltender, extending the Blades lead to 4-2.
5-2 Blades at 16:50 – Jordan Keller (2), assisted by Colten Worthington // Worthington carried the puck down past the goal line and sent a pass to Keller in front, as he was able to get the puck and tucked it past Pyne to make it 5-2.
6-2 Blades at 18:54 – Rowan Calvert (1), assisted by Jordan Martin (EN) // Martin fired the puck the length of the ice aiming for the empty cage, but he missed it and Calvert won the race and buried the Blades’ sixth goal of the game.
