PREVIEW: Pats Kick Off Stretch of Five in a Row on the Road in Swift Current
The Regina Pats (40-7-6-1) play the first of five straight on the road on Wednesday night in Swift Current against the Broncos (29-17-3-6). Puck drop is at 7 p.m. at the Credit Union Iplex. The Pats were in action on Tuesday night at the Brandt Centre against the Everett Silvertips and saw their 11 game win streak come to an end in a 4-2 loss. The Broncos were last at it on Saturday and lost 3-2 in a shootout in Calgary to the Hitmen. Tonight is the fourth of eight meetings between the Pats and Broncos. Lead Up: Silvertips Halt Pats 11 Game Winning Streak Tuesday
The Regina Pats saw their 11 game win streak come to an end on Tuesday night in a 4-2 loss to the Everett Silvertips at the Brandt Centre. The Pats trailed 1-0 after one and 4-1 after two periods in the contest. Regina got to within two in the third on a goal from Dawson Leedahl but Carter Hart shut the door from there, en-route to a first star performance. Sam Steel picked up an assist in the loss, his 100th point of the season. The Silvertips outshot the Pats 31-28 in the victory. The Regina powerplay was oh for three and the penalty kill was four for four.

The Pats hold a 3-0-0-0 record against Swift Current heading into tonight’s fourth meeting of the season. Regina has won once at home and twice on the road in the season series. Steel Gets Century Mark
Pats forward Sam Steel picked up an assist in the Pats 4-2 loss to Everett on Tuesday night, his 100th point of the season in just 48 games. The first round pick of the Anaheim Ducks has scored 39 goals and has 61 assists in the contests. Steel is tied for fourth in the league with hose 39 goals, 10 of which have come on the powerplay and four of them shorthanded. The Sherwood Park, Alberta product is tied for second in the WHL at plus 43. He enters Wednesday night riding an eight game point streak with three goals and 10 assists in that stretch. Steel is six points ahead of teammate Adam Brooks in the WHL scoring race.
