PREVIEW: Pats finish 2023-24 season in Moose Jaw
Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats wrap up their 2023-24 regular season tonight against the Moose Jaw Warriors at the Moose Jaw Events Centre at 7:00 p.m.

The Regina Pats gear up for their final game of the season tonight and will bid one final farewell to their 20-year-old graduating Pats with Carson Haynes, Ty Gibson and Keagan Slaney playing their final games of their WHL careers tonight.
The Pats wrapped up their 2023-24 home schedule with a tight 3-2 loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings on a night where the organization recognized the 1974 Pats team that won the Memorial Cup as it was their 50th anniversary. The Pats also held their pre-game awards ceremony on Friday and honoured their graduating Pats with their framed game-worn jerseys.
In the Pats 3-2 loss vs. Brandon, there were three different lead changes throughout the night. With the Pats taking a 2-1 lead in the third, the Wheat Kings tied the game seconds later before taking the 3-2 lead. Sam Oremba tallied his fifth multi-goal game of the season with a two goal performance while Tanner Howe tied his career-high with his 49th assist. Ty Gibson also picked up an assist on the Pats power play goal giving him points in three straight games. The shots were 32-28 for the Pats. Both teams went 1-5 on their power plays.
Meanwhile, the Moose Jaw Warriors will play the Brandon Wheat Kings in round one they are locked in for third place in the Eastern Conference with a 43-21-0-3 record and 89 points. The Wheat Kings are in sixth with 73 points.
Winners of nine of their last 13 games since Feb. 23, the Warriors are coming off a 5-3 loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings at Westoba Place on Thursday. Moose Jaw had a 2-0 lead early on and lead 3-2 after two before allowing three goals in the third period to break their two game winning-streak. Jagger Firkus scored twice and tallied an assist for a three point game, giving him 58 goals and 121 points this season. Brayden Yager (1G-1A) also set a new career-high with his 35th goal of the season after he scored 34 goals in his rookie season in 2021-22.
The shots were 40-23 for the Wheat Kings. The Warriors went 1-3 on their power play and 0-1 on their penalty kill.
