PREVIEW: Pats end six game homestand against Lethbridge
Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats (6-9-0) finish off their six game homestand tonight at the Brandt Centre against the Lethbridge Hurricanes (5-9-0) at 7:00 p.m.
The Pats are coming off a 6-3 loss to the Central Division’s first place Edmonton Oil Kings (11-3-3) on Saturday night. Connor Bedard scored twice for his third multi-goal game of the year, while Zane Rowan scored his first WHL goal to open the scoring in the first. Tanner Howe recorded an assist as well, extending his point-streak to five straight games. Final shots were 34-26 for the Oil Kings, as the Pats are outshot for the first time in seven contests (since Oct. 16 at WPG). The Pats streak of five straight games with a power play goal came to an end Saturday, going 0-for-3 on the man advantage. Their penalty kill also gave up a power play goal for the first time in three games.
On the other side, the Lethbridge Hurricanes are coming off a 5-2 loss in Brandon against the Wheat Kings on Thursday afternoon for their sixth straight loss. The Hurricanes play the fourth game of their five game road trip tonight, which then ends tomorrow in Moose Jaw. They’ve suffered losses to Brandon (5-2), Winnipeg (5-1) and Swift Current (7-2) during the trip, while their last win came on October 29th against Saskatoon (W, 4-3).
