PREVIEW: Pats End Month Of January Schedule in Moose Jaw
Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats (16-18-1) play the Moose Jaw Warriors (22-16-3-1) for the third time this month, as puck drop is at 7:00 p.m., inside Mosiac Place on Saturday.
The Regina Pats are coming off a 6-4 loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings on Friday. The Pats let a 2-0 and 4-2 lead slip away, as the Wheat Kings scored three unanswered goals in a span of less than three minutes, scoring two in the final 1:05 of the second and the game winner 53 seconds into the third period. Stanislav Svozil tallied a career high in points and assists in a game with four, while Borya Valis (2G), Connor Bedard (2A) and Neithan Salame (1G-1A) each had multi-point games. The final shots were 27-22 for Regina, with the Pats going 1-2 on the power play, but 2-for-5 on the penalty kill.
The Moose Jaw Warriors are riding a five game winning-streak heading into action, as they’re coming off a 5-4 shootout win over the Winnipeg ICE at home on Friday. The Warriors have gone on this streak since losing 7-1 to Regina on January 16th at the Brandt Centre. They are also 6-1-0 over their last seven home games coming in, having won their last two at Mosaic Place.
