PREVIEW: Post Host ICE in Guaranteed Win Night
Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats (26-34-3-2) host the Winnipeg ICE (51-10-3-2) on Friday at 7:00 p.m., inside the Brandt Centre.
Tonight at the Brandt Centre is GUARANTEED WIN NIGHT. If the Pats come up short today, all fans in attendance will receive a voucher for a FREE silver ticket to any regular season home game next season. The ticket vouchers will be distributed upon exiting the venue. Plus, for all three Pats games this weekend, we will be selling draft beer (at the Northeast and Southwest bars only) for half price during the first hour after doors open. That means 6-7 p.m. tonight and tomorrow, and 3-4 p.m. on Sunday!
Proceeds from both relocated games on Friday and Saturday will be shared with the Winnipeg ICE via an agreed upon revenue share model.
It’s the first three-in-three at the Brandt Centre since February 21 – 23 of the 2019-20 season when the Pats hosted Saskatoon (L, 6-3), Edmonton (L, 2-1) and Brandon (OTW, 4-3).
The Pats are coming off back-to-back wins last weekend over Swift Current and Prince Albert, bringing The Regiment within two points of the final playoff spot. The Pats defeated the Prince Albert Raiders on Saturday, 5-3. Connor Bedard (2G-1A) and Tanner Howe (1G-2A) each recorded three point games, while Kelton Pyne made 24 saves for his fourth win of the season. The final shots were 27-18 for the Raiders, while the Pats went 2-for-4 on their power play and 4-for-4 on their penalty kill. It’s the Pats first win this season when recording less than 20 shots in a game.
The two wins for the Pats over the Broncos and Raiders were crucial for the club, who now has a strong chance at making the playoffs. Here is a look at the Eastern Conference standings head into tonight’s action:
