Pats fall in shootout to Wheat Kings
Regina, Saskatchewan – The Regina Pats got 38 saves between starter Tyler Brown and Jordan Hollett but lost a 3-2 shootout decision in Brandon to the Wheat Kings on Friday night. Chase Harrison and Dawson Leedahl each had a goal and an assist in the first period on the powerplay to spot the Pats a 2-1 after 1. However Connor Gutenberg scored his second of the night in the 3rd for the Wheat Kings to tie the game 2-2 and force overtime. The extra frame solved nothing and in the shootout Ivan Provorov and Ty Lewis scored for Brandon who took the win 3-2. Nick Henry and Riley Woods were stopped by Logan Thompson in the shootout, the Brandon netminder made 32 saves for the win.
