Pats Announce 2023 Training Camp Schedule & Roster
Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats Hockey Club announced Monday the full schedule and roster for their 2023 Training Camp at the Brandt Centre.
Camp will run from Wednesday, August 30th to Tuesday, September 5th, all at the Brandt Centre, with the annual Bennett Dunlop Ford Blue vs. White Intraquad game being held on Tuesday, September 5 at 6:00 p.m.
Orientation will begin on Wednesday with player registration and fitness testing, with Rookie Camp running from Thursday to Friday. Main Camp will open on Saturday and will wrap up on Tuesday with the Blue & White game.
“We are excited about the opening of our 2023 training camp, and look forward to a competitive seven days,” Regina Pats VP, Hockey Operations & General Manager Alan Millar said. “Training camp this year will open with rookie camp scrimmages, and our young players will earn their way to main camp by their performance and work ethic. While training camp is about building our 2023-24 team roster, it is also an important and valuable experience for our young prospects and their development.”

A total of 59 players, seven goalies, 18 defencemen and 34 forwards will attend the Pats 2023 Training Camp. The Pats have invited 12 free agents, as well as all 11 players drafted by the Pats in the 2023 WHL Prospects draft, and eight from the 2022 WHL Prospects draft.
The Pats will welcome back 15 players from last years roster to training camp.
Regina Pats 2003-born goaltender Drew Sim will not be taking part in main camp due to a lower-body injury and is out indefinitely.
2004-born import forward Alexander Suzdalev will not be taking part in main camp as he is expected to begin the season in professional hockey in the Washington Capitals organization.

The Pats will play four pre-season games prior to the 2023-24 season opener on September 22nd against the Brandon Wheat Kings at Westoba Place.
The Pats will begin the pre-season on September 8th at home against the Wheat Kings before completing their home-and-home on September 9th in Brandon. Regina will then host the Saskatoon Blades on September 13th, and later wrapping up exhibition play on September 15th in Prince Albert.
2023-24 season home opener is on September 23rd against the Saskatoon Blades.
