A Look Ahead
After three weeks away from the Queen City, the Regina Pats are back this weekend! The blue and white are currently two points behind the Calgary Hitmen for the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference and three back of the Red Deer Rebels for 7th with the ‘Rebs in town Saturday night. The weekend kicks off Friday as the Vancouver Giants visit the Brandt Centre for the first time in almost two years.

Just in time for a chilly December, the first 500 children to enter the doors of the Brandt Centre on Friday night will receive a Regina Pats toque courtesy of The Co-operators.
The Vancouver Giants are at the Brandt Centre for the first time since a 4-3 win on February 24th, 2010. That night a 17 year old Brendan Gallagher scored the game winning goal for the Giants. He returns with the Giants Friday night as the league’s 7th leading scorer. This the second last stop for Vancouver on their six game road trip through the Eastern Division, with the final game coming
Who to look for:
RW – Brendan Gallagher
Brendan was one of 41 players invited to Canada’s World Junior Training Camp in Calgary beginning December 10th in Calgary. He is a 5th round pick of the Montreal Canadiens in the 2010 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
LW – Marek Tvrdon
The 4th round pick of the Detroit Red Wings is currently 2nd on the Giants in scoring. He was recently selected to play for Team Slovakia at the upcoming World Junior Hockey Championships later this month in Calgary and Edmonton.
D – David Musil
The big defenceman is the leader of a solid Giant defensive core. He is a 2nd round pick of the Edmonton Oilers in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

The 12th annual Regina Pats Toque and Teddy Bear Toss night will be this Saturday as the Pats host the Red Deer Rebels. Bring a brand new stuffed toy or a toque to the Brandt Centre and when the Pats score their first goal of the game, toss the toys and toques on the ice. The Regina Pats players will play Santa over the next two weeks delivering the toques and toys to children at local hospitals and organizations.
This is the second of four meetings between the Pats and Rebels with the Rebels winning the first match-up on October 15th, 4-1 at the Enmax Centrium in Red Deer. Adam Beukeboom was solid between the pipes with 29 saves on 31 Rebel shots as the final two Red Deer goals were empty netters.

Alex was one of 41 players invited to Canada’s World Junior Training Camp in Calgary beginning December 10th in Calgary. He is a 2nd round pick of the Florida Panthers in the 201 NHL Entry Draft.
D – Matt Dumba
Matt was one of 41 players invited to Canada’s World Junior Training Camp in Calgary beginning December 10th in Calgary. He is the 4th ranked WHL skater in the NHL’s Central Scouting Bureau’s preliminary rankings.
LW – John Persson
The smooth skating Swede is the Rebels leading scorer averaging a little over a point a game. Persson was selected by the New York Islanders in the 5th round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
