PREVIEW: Pats Host Raiders To Begin 2023
Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats host the Prince Albert Raiders on New Years Day inside the Brandt Centre at 4:00 p.m.
The Pats are coming off a 4-3 overtime win over the Prince Albert Raiders on Friday at the Art Hauser Centre. The win snapped the Pats three game losing-streak and ended 2022 on a high note. The Pats led 3-0 after one, but allowed the Raiders to comeback in the third, giving up three unanswered goals.
Tanner Brown capped off a three point night with his first career overtime goal, as the Pats took a 3-0 season series lead over the Raiders. Alexander Suzdalev (1G-2A) and Easton Armstrong (1G-1A) also chipped in with multi-point games while Borya Valis rounded out the scoring for the Pats with a power play goal. Drew Sim made 41 saves and 10 in overtime for his 14th win of the season. The Pats were 2-5 on their power play and 6-7 on their penalty kill.
For the Raiders, they got goals from Carson Latimer, Landon Kosior and Gabe Ludwig in the loss. They outshot Regina 44-29 and 36-19 after the first period. With the loss, the Raiders have dropped eight of their last nine games since the start of December and have now lost two straight.
Yesterday, the Raiders traded 2003-born F Carson Latimer to the Winnipeg ICE in exchange for 2005-born F Aidan Oiring and two third round picks.
