Oil Kings announce 2023-24 Regular Season Schedule
June 27, 2023 (Edmonton, AB) – The Edmonton Oil Kings are ready for another season of thrilling WHL action at Rogers Place as earlier today the Club announced their 2023-24 Regular Season Schedule.
The Oil Kings 68-game campaign will see them host 34 home games, 29 of which will be played on a Friday (8), Saturday (7), Sunday (12) or a holiday Monday (2), to go along with 34 road games.
Family Fun Sundays will once again be in full effect at Rogers Place with the Oil Kings hosting 12 of them this coming season. In addition, the Oil Kings will host the Lethbridge Hurricanes at noon on Thanksgiving Monday, October 9 and the Medicine Hat Tigers on Family Day Monday, February 19 at 2:00 PM.
Fans can get quickly get acquainted with the 2023-24 edition of the Oil Kings with the team playing eight home games in the month of October, featuring a six-game homestand from October 7 to October 22, their longest of the season.
The Red Deer Rebels will be the opponent the Oil Kings see the most with 10 matchups (5 home, 5 away) against their QEII rival. The WHL’s Battle of Alberta will see nine contests (4 home, 5 away) between the Oil Kings and Calgary Hitmen. Rounding out their Central Division schedule, the team will take on the Hurricanes and Tigers six times (3 home, 3 away) each and the Swift Current Broncos five times (3 home, 2 away).
The Oil Kings will play each East Division team (Brandon Wheat Kings, Moose Jaw Warriors, Prince Albert Raiders, Regina Pats and Saskatoon Blades) a total of four time (2 home, 2 away).
For the first time since the 2019-20 season, the U.S. Division Clubs will pay a visit to Rogers Place, including the WHL’s newest franchise, the Wenatchee Wild on Sunday, February 25.
Also for the first time since the 2019-20 season, the Oil Kings will head to B.C. to battle it out on the road during a seven-game road trip, their longest of the season, from December 27 to January 7 against the Prince George Cougars, Vancouver Giants, Victoria Royals, Kamloops Blazers and Kelowna Rockets with a one-game pit stop south of the boarder in Everett, Washington against the Silvertips on New Year’s Day.
