RELEASE: Oil Kings trade Jacob Hoffrogge to Prince Albert
October 7, 2023 (Edmonton, AB) – The Edmonton Oil Kings have acquired a conditional 2025 sixth-round draft pick from the Prince Albert Raiders in exchange for 2003-born defenceman Jacob Hoffrogge, the Club announced today.
Hoffrogge, 20, joined the Oil Kings last season after being acquired from the Everett Silvertips for a seventh-round draft pick last January.
As a member of the Oil Kings, the Saskatoon, SK product dressed in 31 games registering 13 assists, 12 penalty minutes and a -30 plus/minus rating.
“The Oil Kings would like to thank Jacob for his contributions both on and off the ice,” said Oil Kings President of Hockey Operations and General Manager, Kirt Hill. “Jacob showed great dedication and leadership while with our club and this trade gives him an opportunity to be in the league as a 20-year-old. We wish Jacob all the best in Prince Albert.”
Hoffrogge has appeared in 121 career games in the WHL putting up 26 points (2G, 24A), 50 penalty minutes and a -52 plus/minus rating. He was originally selected in the second round, 41st overall, by the Brandon Wheat Kings at the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft.
The Edmonton Oil Kings next home game is tonight, Saturday, October 7 at 7:00 P.M. when they take on the Prince Albert Raiders at Rogers Place.
