Edmonton Oil Kings provide update on players during 2019-20 season pause
As a result of the pause to the Western Hockey League season due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, the Edmonton Oil Kings have elected to return players home to their families until more information is made available.
We continue to monitor the ongoing situation in regards to COVID-19, and await word from the Canadian Hockey League on the status of the 2019-20 season. As of today, there has been no change to the status of on-ice play and the season remains temporarily suspended. When further update is made available we will provide it to our fans via RogersPlace.com/news and OilKings.ca.
We want to get back to playing hockey as soon as possible, but we encourage our fans, players and staff to remain focused on our current priority; the health and safety of those in our community.
