Blake Fiddler named to Canada White for World Under-17 Hockey Challenge
October 23, 2023 (Edmonton, AB) – Hockey Canada announced their rosters for next month’s World Under-17 Hockey Challenge and Oil Kings defenceman Blake Fiddler will play for Canada White at the tournament.
As a dual citizen, Fiddler, 16, will be representing Canada on the international stage for the first time after captaining the United States this past summer at the Under-17 Five Nations Tournament in Czechia.
The Frisco, TX product was originally drafted by the Oil Kings with the first-overall pick at the 2022 WHL U.S. Priority Draft and is now playing in his first season with the team having suited up in 11 of the team’s first 12 games of the season.
The 2023 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge will take place from November 2-11 in Charlottetown and Summerside, PEI. The medal games will be available to watch on TSN and RDS.
