Adam Jecho named to 2024 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game roster
December 19, 2023 (Edmonton, AB) – Edmonton Oil Kings forward Adam Jecho has been named to the roster for the upcoming 2024 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game on Wednesday, January 24 in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Jecho, 17, is a Zlin, Czechia product and is playing in his first season in the WHL after being selected with the third overall pick at the 2023 CHL Import Draft by the Oil Kings.
In 19 games this season, the 6-foot-5, 201-pound forward has registered 18 points (8G, 10A), eight penalty minutes and a -2 plus/minus rating.
This past summer, he helped Czechia capture a silver medal at the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup scoring two goals in five games at the tournament.
Earlier this season, NHL Central Scouting rated him as an ‘A’ prospect for the 2024 NHL Draft, indicating he could be a first round pick.
Jecho sustained a lower-body injury back on November 15 in Regina in a game against the Pats and has been out of the Oil Kings lineup since then but is expected to return during the team’s upcoming Western Conference road trip that begins on December 27 in Prince George.
40 players in total have been named to the game and will be assigned to either Team Red or Team White in the new year.
