Canes tally character 5-4 Win
r Bancks, Ashton and Maxwell combine for 8 points and four goals in come from behind win.
r Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes notched a tough character win on Sunday night in Lethbridge as they came from two goals down in the third period to tally a 5-4 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors. The Warriors came out playing the type of fast paced game that Lethbridge expected but were only able to put up a 1-0 lead despite outshooting Lethbridge 16-8. Carter Ashton notched the first lethbridge goal of the night on the power play to tie things up 1-1 to begin the second period. Moose Jaw would once again regain the lead in the second before Carter Bancks wheeled around the net and rang a shot off the crossbar that would drop and be tapped in by rookie Mitch Maxwell. However, Moose Jaw would continue to press, adding two (including a short handed marker) to give the Canes a 4-2 deficit entering the third period.
r
r 20 minutes away from dropping their fourth in a row and second at home the "Boys from the Bridge" showed their mettle as they battled back early in the period with Ashton's second of the game, once again with the man advantage. Austin Fyten battled hard as he drove to the front of the net and tipped his 5th of the season to tie the game midway through the period. But it was "Captain Carter" who would cap the comeback just past the midway point of the third as he roofed a shot for the game winner, his fourth of the season and game leading fourth point of the night. Bancks now has 18 points (4G,14A) to lead all Hurricanes in scoring.
r
r Lethbridge starter Linden Rowat made several key stops to keep the Hurricanes in it, and would finish the night with a total of 28 saves on 32 shots. The win gives Rowat a career total of 89 wins and a record of 4-2-2-0 on the year. The win snapped a three game losing streak for the club and gives them new life as they continue an eight game homestand.
