Hurricanes Kick-Off Annual Blood Drive with Canadian Blood Services and Hockey Gives Blood
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes are set to face-off against the Red Deer Rebels for the annual Hockey Gives Blood Challenge with Canadian Blood Services during the month of January.
Each season, the Hurricanes and Rebels challenge fans to bring in the most blood donations during January. Last year, the Hurricanes narrowly edged the Rebels with 336 total blood donations (86 donations coming from new donors) to the Rebels 329 total blood donations (56 donations from new donors).
The Hurricanes will look to bring in more blood donations again this season. The Hurricanes will officially kick-off the blood drive as Fortified Nutrition hosts members from Canadian Blood Services at the ‘Canes game on Saturday, January 4, 2020. Fans at the game can find out their blood type and book their donation appointment by visiting the Canadian Blood Services table under Section HH.
To book an appointment today, locate a donor centre, check your eligibility and more, download the GiveBlood app available for iOS on the App Store or for Android on Google Play or visit blood.ca. Be sure to tell the staff and volunteer at the Canadian Blood Services Clinic that you are donating on behalf of the Lethbridge Hurricanes so they count your donation towards the Hockey Gives Blood Challenge!
