GAME DAY: Hurricanes Return Home, Welcome Raiders
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes return to the ENMAX Centre tonight at 7:00pm as they welcome the Prince Albert Raiders.
The Hurricanes (2-3-0-0) enter having dropped a 5-0 decision in Red Deer to the Rebels on Friday. Harrison Meneghin made 26 saves in the losing cause while the ‘Canes were 0/3 on the power play. Cole Shepard led all Hurricanes with four shots on goal. Lethbridge enters tonight having been shutout in each of their last two outings but are 1-0-0-0 at home this season.
The Raiders (2-3-2-0) are coming off a 5-4 overtime loss last night in Swift Current to the Broncos. Sloan Stanick scored twice while Carson Latimer and Keaton Sorensen added the others in the defeat. Max Hildebrand made 22 saves in the loss. Prince Albert is 0-2-2-0 on the road this season.
Tonight will be the second of four meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and the Raiders this season, including the second meeting in the last four days. Lethbridge is 0-1-0-0 against Prince Albert this season and have lost four straight to the Raiders dating back to last season, the last two by shutout.

Ty for Ty: On September 27th, the Hurricanes acquired 2004-born forward Tyson Zimmer from the Brandon Wheat Kings in exchange for a pair of draft picks. Zimmer appeared in 66 games for the Wheaties last season totaling 21 points (9g-12a). The ‘Canes also traded four-year veteran Ty Nash to the Winnipeg ICE in a separate trade.
Shep-Repped: On September 21st, the ‘Canes announced the acquisition of overage forward Cole Shepard from the Vancouver Giants in exchange for a third-round draft pick in 2023. Shepard had 20 points (7g-13a) in 28 games in 2021-2022 with the Giants. He is the younger brother of former Hurricanes forward Jackson Shepard who spent the 2018-2019 season in Lethbridge. He was re-assigned to Lethbridge by the Vancouver Canucks on Monday after appearing in one NHL pre-season game.

20-Goal Guy: Hurricanes co-captain Jett Jones is the only returning 20-goal scorer from the 2021-2022 season. Jones finished last year with 20 goals and 42 points in 68 games, finishing fourth in team-scoring. Only Justin Hall (34) and Yegor Klavdiev (21) had more goals last year.
