Giants Overtake Cougars With a 5-1 Win
Dmitry Osipov scored for the Vancouver Giants early in the second period to break a one-all tie en route to a 5-1 win over the Prince George Cougars Saturday night at the Pacific Coliseum.
Osipov’s game-winning goal was also his first career Western Hockey League goal.
Giants’ leading scorer Brett Kulak had two goals. Jackson Houck and Tim Traber had the other Vancouver goals.
The win moves the Giants into 8th place in the Western Conference.
Payton Lee made 21 saves for the win.
The Giants had 40 shots on goal and went 2-for-8 on the power play.
