|ADOPT A SCHOOL||BE A GIANT||MINOR HOCKEY|
To inspire and support every kid to excel in 4 key areas; at school, in their community, at home and with their own personal health and wellness.
The Be a Giant Foundation is committed to:
..Making contributions to charitable organizations that focus on the health and wellness of K through 7 students in the lower mainland of British Columbia.
..Connecting with elementary age students to provide positive role models and leadership.
..Supporting local, youth sports and recreational organizations at the grassroots level.
Since day one at the Pacific Coliseum,The Giants have been an integral part of their local community. The Giants’ leadership has extended into local schools and communities for 20 years beginning with the ‘Read to Succeed’ literacy program.
As the needs of students evolved, the Read to Succeed program was reinvented to encompass not only literacy, but physical health, social responsibility and inclusivity. From 2013-2017, the Giant’s ran an annual in-game flash-mob, a part of a province wide anti-bullying campaign. Watch it HERE
In 2016, The Be A Giant program developed it’s Four Pillars, which still stand as the foundation of our work:
The Be a Giant Foundation is now certified as a registered charitable organization, allowing for exponential growth in terms of fundraising and local contributions. As we embark on this next step, our focus is as clear as ever; To Inspire and Support every kid as they work to make a positive impact on their communities, schools, at home and in their own well-being.
