GAME DAY: Wednesday, January 1 vs. Victoria
Victoria, B.C. – The Vancouver Giants (17-13-4-0) go for their fifth consecutive win today when they host the Victoria Royals (17-11-3-4) at the LEC for a New Year’s Day matinee at 2 p.m.
The G-Men are coming off a comeback for the ages: they erased a 6-2 third period deficit last night in Victoria and topped the Royals 7-6 in a shootout. Previously, the Giants have pulled off consecutive wins over Tri-City (Dec. 15), Kamloops (Dec. 27) and Kelowna (Dec. 29).
The Royals are now 2-2-1-2 in their last seven games, but those two wins came against Vancouver on Dec. 13 and 14. Victoria has a strong 10-6-1 road record this season, the same as the Giants record on home ice.
These rivals are separated by just three points in the Western Conference standings. This is the fourth of eight H2H games this season.
