PREVIEW: Giants Visit Rockets Saturday
KELOWNA, B.C. – The Vancouver Giants (20-30-1-2) hit the road to battle the Memorial Cup host Kelowna Rockets (27-18-5-2) tonight in the fourth of six head-to-head meetings this season.
The Giants are coming off a massive 3-2 shootout win over the B.C. Division leading Penticton Vees on Friday night, getting goals from Jan Skok and Misha Volotovskii. Even though they were outshot 39-21, the Giants brought pace, physicality and urgency for most of the game – and they got superb goaltending from Kelton Pyne.
Vancouver remains without captain Ryan Lin (upper body), forward Mathis Preston (lower body) and forward Adam Titlbach (upper body).

TONIGHT’S MATCHUP
The Rockets lost last night in Wenatchee 5-3, but they are 6-3-1 in their last 10. They are in a tight battle with Prince George and Kamloops for the 3rd, 4th and 5th spots in the Western Conference, with those three teams separated by just four points entering Saturday’s action.
Vancouver is still looking for their first win against Kelowna this season. The last meeting was a lopsided loss for the Giants at home two weeks ago.
