GAME DAY: Nov. 23 vs. Spokane
Langley, B.C. – The Vancouver Giants (9-7-4-0) hope to work their way out of an unusual funk tonight when they host the Spokane Chiefs (14-9-0-0) at 7 p.m. PT at the Langley Events Centre.
The G-Men are winless in five straight games (0-3-2).
This comes after a tough 8-3 loss on the road in Kelowna last night, where the Giants led 2-1 after 20 minutes, only to see Kelowna score six straight times in period two.
Vancouver will play their next five contests on home ice, where they have had significant success this season with a 6-2-1 record while outscoring their opponents 48-37. It’s the longest homestand of the season.
The Chiefs are coming off a 4-3 shootout win last night in Everett over the Silvertips. The Giants are 3-3-4 in their last 10 games, while the Chiefs are 5-5.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
The Player to Watch for the Giants is forward Aaron Obobaifo, who returned to the Giants lineup last night after a 10-game absence.
Although he didn’t register a point, he looked like his usual self: confident with the puck and making things happen all over the ice with his tenaciousness. Through 10 games, the 17-year-old has 10 points, after a strong start to the year that saw him score six goals.
Obobaifo played with Cameron Schmidt and Jaden Lipinski on Friday night and the trio generated plenty of good looks.
The Player to Watch for the Chiefs is forward Shea Van Olm, who is having a career season at 20-years-old.
Van Olm sits second in the WHL in goals with 20, after a pair of goals last night against Everett. With 20 tallies through 23 games he is already approaching a new career-high, with his previous high set last season when he had 24 goals in 70 games split between Kamloops and Spokane.
The left-shot forward has nine goals and 13 points in his last eight games, and also impressively has 11 more goals than anyone else on his team. His 34 points are tied for 5th in the league.
