Jamie ‘Butter’ LeBlanc Completes 1000th CHL Game as Athletic Trainer
It was a special night on Saturday as one of our unsung heroes on the Swift Current Broncos accomplished an impressive milestone.
Swift Current Broncos athletic trainer Jamie ‘Butter’ LeBlanc achieved a significant milestone, working his 1,000th Canadian Hockey League game as a trainer in junior hockey.
“Anytime you can hit a milestone, it’s an honour,” said LeBlanc. “When you really sit and think about how long you’ve worked in the league for, it’s pretty humbling when you think about it.”
Very few Athletic Trainers or Equipment Managers ever reach this plateau. LeBlanc’s achievement comes after 15 seasons in junior hockey, including his 12th with the Broncos. The 1,000th game milestone is a testament to LeBlanc’s commitment, professionalism and endurance to the sport.
“It’s an honour to be on that level with other guys who have been around the league as long as I have,” mentioned LeBlanc.
The Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers Society and the Society of Professional Hockey Equipment Managers are committed to encouraging and recognizing excellence in the field of Athletic Training and Equipment Management.
Broncos’ governor Al Stewart presented Butter as he is known throughout Swift Current with a gift on behalf of the entire Broncos organization ahead of the game against the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday night.
