2025-26 CHL Top-10 Rankings presented by Delta Hotels by Marriott: Week 3
The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) today unveiled its Week 3 edition of the CHL Top-10 Rankings presented by Delta Hotels by Marriott for the 2025-26 season.
The Blainville-Boisbriand Armada (5-0-0-1) of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) remain at No. 1 in the CHL Top-10 Rankings for a third consecutive week following a strong showing that included an 8-0 win over the No. 10-ranked Charlottetown Islanders. Justin Carbonneau, Xavier Villeneuve, and CHL goal leader Matt Gosselin continued to contribute offensively as the Armada extended their unbeaten streak in regulation. The Windsor Spitfires (7-1-0-0) of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) stay second after winning two of three games and matching their best season start in nearly four decades, with goaltender Joey Costanzo and captain Liam Greentree leading the way. The Brantford Bulldogs (3-0-1-1) of the OHL hold third, remaining without a regulation loss after earning three of four possible points last week.
In the WHL, the Everett Silvertips (5-0-1-0) of the Western Hockey League (WHL) rise three spots to No. 6, following a productive offensive stretch highlighted by Finnish forwards Matias Vanhanen and Julius Miettinen. The Charlottetown Islanders (6-1-0-1) of the QMJHL make their season debut in the Top 10 at No. 10 after a successful four-game road trip, bolstered by Marcus Kearsey’s standout performance and goaltender Donald Hickey’s perfect record.

CHL Top-10 Rankings – Week 3
1. Blainville-Boisbriand Armada (QMJHL): The Blainville-Boisbriand Armada (5-0-1-0) remain atop the CHL Top-10 Rankings for a third straight week to open the 2025-26 season after earning three of four possible points over the weekend. The Armada handed the No.10-ranked Charlottetown Islanders their first regulation loss of the season with a dominant 8-0 victory before dropping a hard-fought 2-1 overtime decision to Gatineau the next night. Saturday’s win was a statement performance that highlighted the club’s depth and offensive firepower, led by St. Louis Blues first-rounder Justin Carbonneau, who scored twice in his first game back, and 2026 NHL Draft prospect Xavier Villeneuve, who tallied three points (1G-2A), including one of the most spectacular goals of the young season. Matt Gosselin also notched two goals to extend his CHL- and QMJHL-leading total to nine. At the same time, Vegas Golden Knights prospect Mateo Nobert added three points, and Nashville Predators prospect Jakub Milota posted a 26-save shutout. Though the Armada fell short in Gatineau despite a strong showing and a stellar effort from Montreal Canadiens goaltender Arseni Radkov, they remain the only QMJHL team without a regulation loss this season. Blainville-Boisbriand now heads east for a two-game road series against the Newfoundland Regiment before returning home to host Sherbrooke on Thanksgiving Monday.
Games this week: @ Newfoundland (Oct. 9), @ Newfoundland (Oct. 10), vs. Sherbrooke (Oct. 13)
2. Windsor Spitfires (OHL): The Windsor Spitfires (7-1-0-0) hold steady at No. 2 in the CHL Top-10 Rankings after another strong week, winning two of three games over a four-day span. Windsor opened with a dominant 6-0 win over Niagara, outshooting the IceDogs 38-9, before edging the No. 3-ranked Brantford Bulldogs 4-3 in a shootout to match their best start in nearly 40 years (7-0, 1986-87). Their first loss of the season came Sunday in a 6-3 setback to Owen Sound, though they remain the CHL’s only seven-win team. Goaltender Joey Costanzo continued his stellar play, earning his second shutout and improving to 5-0 with a 0.98 GAA — one of the best in the CHL. Captain and Los Angeles Kings prospect Liam Greentree quickly made his mark after returning from camp, posting three goals and five assists in his first three games, including a three-point outing (2G-1A) against Owen Sound. Flyers first-round pick Jack Nesbitt (1G-2A) and Blackhawks prospect AJ Spellacy (2A) both made impactful season debuts, while 2026 NHL Draft prospect Ethan Belchetz continued his steady production with points in five of his last seven games. Windsor now turns its focus to another busy stretch — hosting Guelph on Thursday, visiting Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday, and returning home for a Thanksgiving Monday showdown with Oshawa.
Games this week: vs. Guelph (Oct. 9), @ Soo (Oct. 11), vs. Oshawa (Oct. 13)
3. Brantford Bulldogs (OHL): The Brantford Bulldogs (3-0-1-1) remain among the CHL’s top three for a second straight week after earning three of a possible four points. The Bulldogs opened the weekend with a convincing 6-3 win over the Peterborough Petes before dropping a tight 4-3 shootout decision to the No. 2-ranked Windsor Spitfires. Against Windsor, Brantford showed plenty of fight—erasing a 3-1 deficit to force overtime thanks in part to Minnesota Wild prospect Adam Benak’s second career OHL goal. The Bulldogs remain one of just two OHL teams yet to lose in regulation and one of six CHL clubs unbeaten through 60 minutes in 2025-26. Chicago Blackhawks prospect Marek Vanacker continued his hot start, scoring in both games to extend his goal streak to three, while Winnipeg Jets prospect Edison Engle picked up points in all three games he’s played, including his first career OHL goal against Peterborough. Captain and Seattle Kraken prospect Jake O’Brien led the charge offensively with four points, highlighted by a shorthanded marker versus the Petes, and 2026 NHL Draft hopeful Vladimir Dravecky added points in both outings. The Bulldogs now prepare for a three-game stretch that includes a visit to Niagara before hosting Sudbury and Ottawa at the TD Civic Centre this weekend.
Games this week: @ Niagara (Oct. 9), vs. Sudbury (Oct. 10), @ Ottawa (Oct. 12)
4. Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL): The Edmonton Oil Kings (5-1-0-0) climb one spot to No. 4 in this week’s CHL Top-10 Rankings after a dominant stretch that saw them win all three games on the road against Regina (4-3), Moose Jaw (5-1), and Brandon (5-0). A major factor in their early-season success has been their elite penalty kill, which allowed just one goal on 17 opportunities last week and sits at 90% overall — one of only two CHL teams operating at that mark in 2025-26. Between the pipes, 17-year-old and 2026 NHL Draft prospect Parker Snell was exceptional, earning Mary Brown’s Chicken WHL Goaltender of the Week honours after posting a 2-0-0-0 record with a 1.50 GAA, .939 SV%, and a shutout — capped by a 26-save performance in Brandon for his second career WHL shutout. His 1.33 GAA ranks first in the WHL, while his .943 SV% sits third. Up front, Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Miroslav Holinka scored in all three games upon returning to the lineup, giving him four goals and five points on the season. Meanwhile, 2026 NHL Draft prospects Joe Iginla and Lukas Sawchyn continued to produce — Iginla finding the net in three of his last four games and Sawchyn recording five assists over a three-game point streak. The Oil Kings wrap up their five-game road trip this week in Medicine Hat before returning home to host Moose Jaw and Lethbridge over the Thanksgiving weekend.
Games this week: @ Medicine Hat (Oct. 8), vs. Moose Jaw (Oct. 11), vs. Lethbridge (Oct. 13)
5. Kitchener Rangers (OHL): The Kitchener Rangers (4-1-0-0) climb one spot to No. 5 in this week’s CHL Top-10 Rankings after earning a 4-3 win over the previously ranked Owen Sound Attack in their lone outing of the week. Colorado Avalanche prospect Christian Humphreys led the charge with a pair of goals, including the game-winner, to earn first-star honours. 2026 NHL Draft prospect Cameron Arquette continued his strong start with his third goal of the season, giving him seven points in five games, while New York Islanders prospect Luca Romano also found the back of the net on Friday. Chicago Blackhawks prospect Jack Pridham and 2026 Draft prospect Tanner Lam each added two assists in the win. In goal, San Jose Sharks prospect Christian Kirsch turned aside 27 of 30 shots for his second career OHL victory. One of just four OHL teams boasting a points percentage above .800, Kitchener now heads on the road for a three-game swing through Flint, Sault Ste. Marie, and Saginaw.
Game this week: @ Flint (Oct. 8), @ Soo (Oct. 10), @ Saginaw (Oct. 11)
6. Everett Silvertips (WHL): The Everett Silvertips (5-0-1-0) made the biggest climb of any team in this week’s CHL Top-10 Rankings, jumping three spots to No. 6 after a dominant offensive stretch that saw them win all three of their games by a combined 21-8 margin. Averaging seven goals per outing, the Silvertips rolled past Tri-City (7-1) and Victoria (9-4) at home before capping their week with a 5-3 road victory in Kennewick. Leading the charge was Finnish forward Matias Vanhanen, who earned Tempo WHL Player of the Week honours after posting 10 points (2G–8A) and a +8 rating in three games. Vanhanen now sits atop the CHL with 11 assists and ranks second in WHL scoring with 13 points, extending his point streak to five games. Fellow Finn and Seattle Kraken prospect Julius Miettinen also stayed hot with a hat trick Friday and a three-point night Saturday, giving him three multi-point games in his last five. Florida Panthers prospect Shea Busch scored in four straight contests — including his first WHL hat trick and five-point night against Victoria — while 19-year-old Jesse Heslop extended his point streak to six games with goals in all three matchups last week. The Silvertips now head north for a four-game road trip through British Columbia, beginning this weekend in Victoria.
Games this week: @ Victoria (Oct. 10), @ Victoria (Oct. 11)
7. Chicoutimi Saguenéens (QMJHL): The Chicoutimi Saguenéens (4-2-0-1) hold steady at No. 7 in the CHL Top-10 Rankings for a third consecutive week after earning two wins in three games during their Nova Scotia road swing. Chicoutimi swept Cape Breton with 3-2 (SO) and 3-0 victories before dropping a 6-5 decision to Saint John on Sunday. Goaltender Raphaël Précourt made his long-awaited season debut in Cape Breton, stopping 26 shots and two in the shootout to earn his first win, while 18-year-old Mathias Hernandez notched his first QMJHL shutout with 24 saves, extending his shutout streak to 100 minutes — a run that was snapped Sunday when he allowed one goal in relief of Précourt against Saint John. Up front, Anaheim Ducks prospect Maxim Massé continued to pace the offense with three goals and an assist, giving him six goals in six games. Fellow Ducks prospect Émile Guité has registered points in all six of his appearances this season, scoring a goal in five of them, while 2026 NHL Draft prospect Nathan Lecompte stretched his point streak to six games. Washington Capitals prospect Maxim Schäfer also found his stride, posting back-to-back multi-point efforts. The Sags will have a lighter schedule this week, visiting Baie-Comeau on Friday in their only matchup.
Games this week: @ Baie-Comeau (Oct. 10)
8. Kelowna Rockets (WHL): The Kelowna Rockets (2-1-0-0) remain steady at No. 8 in this week’s CHL Top-10 Rankings after a quiet week without any games on their schedule. That downtime sets up a busy stretch ahead, as the Rockets prepare to host the undefeated Prince George Cougars on Wednesday, welcome Seattle on Friday, and visit Penticton on Saturday for their third meeting of the season. Kelowna’s lineup is expected to get a major boost with the return of 2024 Utah Mammoth first-round pick Tij Iginla, who was reassigned by Utah on Monday and is set to play his first WHL game since November 30, 2024, when he recorded a five-point night against Regina before his season was cut short by injury. Iginla, who had 32 points in 21 games last year, should provide an immediate spark for the 2026 Memorial Cup hosts, who also anticipate the season debut of San Jose Sharks prospect Carson Westch this week.
Games this week: @ Prince George (Oct. 8), vs. Seattle (Oct. 10), @ Penticton (Oct. 11)
9. Spokane Chiefs (WHL): After a tough weekend at home against the unbeaten Prince George Cougars, the Spokane Chiefs (2-3-0-0) slipped three spots to ninth in this week’s CHL Top-10 Rankings. Despite dropping both games — 2-1 and 4-3 — the Chiefs remained competitive against a Cougars team backstopped by San Jose Sharks’ 2025 first-round pick Joshua Ravensbergen, who turned aside 50 of 54 shots in his 2025-26 debut. For Spokane, 2027 NHL Draft prospect Carter Esler continued his strong start to the season, stopping 35 of 37 shots in Friday’s narrow loss. Through three starts, Esler holds a 2-1-0-0 record with a 1.33 goals-against average and a .957 save percentage — best in the WHL and third among all qualified CHL goaltenders. Veteran forward Sam Oremba had the Chiefs’ lone tally on Friday, while 2026 NHL Draft prospect Mathis Preston scored his fourth of the season on Saturday, marking Spokane’s second goal of the night. The Chiefs added a third to take a 3-2 lead, but Prince George rallied in the third period to complete the comeback. Spokane will look to rebound this weekend when it hosts Wenatchee on Friday before traveling to Seattle on Saturday.
Games this week: vs. Wenatchee (Oct. 10), @ Seattle (Oct. 11)
10. Charlottetown Islanders (QMJHL): The Charlottetown Islanders (6-1-0-1) make their first appearance of the season in the CHL Top-10 Rankings, debuting at No. 10 after a strong four-game road trip through Quebec that saw them earn six of a possible eight points. Their lone setback came in an 8-0 loss to No. 1-ranked Blainville-Boisbriand — the third game in as many days — but the Islanders also came away with overtime wins over Shawinigan and Drummondville and a 4-3 triumph in Gatineau during their road trip. Defenseman Marcus Kearsey was named the QMJHL’s Videotron Player of the Week after an eight-point performance (4G–4A) that included a career-high four points and his first QMJHL hat trick against Shawinigan, followed by another overtime winner versus Drummondville. Ross Campbell added six assists to move into the league’s top five in scoring with 12 points, while 20-year-old Nathan Leek tallied two goals in a pair of games last week to reach eight on the season — just one shy of the QMJHL lead. Between the pipes, 2026 NHL Draft prospect Donald Hickey stayed perfect, improving to 5-0-0-0. The Islanders now return home to host Saint John and Newfoundland this week.
Game this week: vs. Saint John (Oct. 10), vs. Newfoundland (Oct. 12), vs. Newfoundland (Oct. 13)
