Initial groups set for 2027 World Juniors
With the 2026 World Juniors officially over, the initial groups are now set for the 2027 tournament in Edmonton and Red Deer.
Canada will headline Group A at Rogers Place in Edmonton and are scheduled to face Czechia, Latvia, Switzerland and Norway. Group B – which will be based at Marchant Crane Centrium in Red Deer – will feature 2026 winners Sweden alongside Finland, USA, Slovakia and Germany. However, as hosts, Canada does have the right to switch two similarly-seeded teams if desired. The final schedule will be released closer to the tournament.
The 2027 tournament will be the 19th time Canada has hosted the event and will mark the fifth time Alberta will act as the competition’s home.
As per usual, the event will run from Dec. 26 – Jan. 5.
