2018 NHL Draft prospect Ty Dellandrea (1, 2) scored twice and newly acquired blueliner Nicolas Mattinen had two assists as the Flint Firebirds spoiled the party in Kitchener with a 5-3 victory. Down 3-2 late in the third, the Firebirds scored three times in under two minutes as Fedor Gordeev (1), Dellandrea and Jake Durham (1) secured the win. Sophomore forward Hunter Holmes (1) also scored for Flint while veteran winger Nicholas Caamano had three assists in his return from Dallas Stars training camp. Adam Liska (1), Adam Mascherin (1) and Riley Damiani (1) all scored for the Rangers who were outshot 39-33. The Firebirds went 3-for-9 on the power play to Kitchener’s 2-for-4.
