1ST STAR: COLE MACKAY (SOO GREYHOUNDS) – 2G, 1A
Third-year Greyhound Cole MacKay led his squad to a big 6-3 victory over the cross-conference rival Sudbury Wolves. The Soo native opened the scoring just 1:10 into the game and notched his second of the night over two minutes into the second period to lift the Greyhounds up 4-0. MacKay also picked up an assist on Rory Kerins’ 15th of the year towards the end of the game. He now has 31 points (16-15-31) through 31 games this season. MacKay attended rookie camp with the Vegas Golden Knights this past September.
2ND STAR: BILLY CONSTANTINOU (SOO GREYHOUNDS) – 3A
Billy Constantinou registered three assists in a 6-3 win over visiting Sudbury. The smooth-skating blueliner’s three helpers all came in the first period, lifting his team to an early 3-0 lead. Constantinou has now earned nine assists in his last five games, shifting his point total to 26 (5-21-26) through 30 games between Sault Ste. Marie and Kingston this season. The Scarborough, Ont. native competed in last year’s Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Red Deer, Alta. He attended training camp with the Los Angeles Kings in September.
3RD STAR: DAVID LEVIN (SUDBURY WOLVES) – 2G, 1A
OHL veteran David Levin scored two on the night, earning his fifth and sixth goals in the last three games as his Sudbury Wolves fell 6-3 to the Soo Greyhounds. In his fifth season with the Wolves, the North York, Ont. native boasts a 40-point total (16-24-40) through 26 games and sits second in Sudbury scoring behind 2020 NHL Draft prospect and Team Canada invitee Quinton Byfield. Levin was drafted first overall in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection.
