OHL Friday Night Faceoff: Brampton at Niagara
The OHL Friday Night Faceoff spotlight shifts to the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines, where the Niagara IceDogs (6–4–0) host the Brampton Steelheads (5–5–0) in an Eastern Conference clash, the game is one of nine happening across the league. Fans can watch the action live and free on FloHockey’s YouTube, X, and Facebook channels, as well as the OHL’s Facebook page and the pages of both participating teams. Puck drop is set for 7:00 pm.
Niagara enters the matchup fresh off a split in their Rivalry Series against the Erie Otters, sitting atop the Central Division with 13 points. The IceDogs boast a strong offensive core led by NHL draft picks Kevin He (4th round, 2024) with 14 points, Ethan Czata (2nd round, 2025) with 12 points and projected 2026 first-rounder Ryan Roobroeck with four goals in his last six games. Between the pipes, import goaltender Vladislav Yermolenko has been stellar, stopping 120 of 131 shots over his last three starts.
Brampton arrives at an even .500 record after dropping both Rivalry Series games to Brantford but rebounding with a seven-goal outburst against Erie. Newly acquired forward Joshua Avery has been a spark, riding a six-game point streak (5G, 4A). On the blue line, Jakub Fibigr is coming off a standout three-point night (1G, 2A) with a +6 rating. He also holds a +11 on the season, making him the only non-Brantford player on the OHL’s plus/minus leaderboard.
This marks the first of three meetings between Niagara and Brampton in just seven days, setting the stage for an early battle to gain the upper hand in this divisional rivalry.
