35 OHL players invited to 2016 NHL Scouting Combine
68 CHL players have been invited to the 2016 NHL Scouting Combine that will be held May 30 to June 4 at First Niagara Center and the HarborCenter in Buffalo, NY.
The list of CHL invitees includes 37 forwards, 24 defencemen and seven goaltenders. CHL talent represents 60% of the 114 players invited to attend the event.
Top CHL draft eligible talent invited includes Cape Breton Screaming Eagles forward Pierre-Luc Dubois, who was the top ranked player on NHL Central Scouting’s Final Pre-Draft Rankings released in early April. Joining him are other highly ranked prospects in Matthew Tkachuk (London Knights), Alexander Nylander (Mississauga Steelheads) and top-ranked defenceman Jakob Chychrun (Sarnia Sting).
The NHL Scouting Combine provides an opportunity for teams to meet and interview prospects as well as see them physically tested in an off-ice setting.
Of the 68 CHL players invited, 35 are from the Ontario Hockey League, 21 from the Western Hockey League, and 12 from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
