Games Notes – Game Preview September 25, 2026 VS Kingston Frontenacs
The Sarnia Sting continue their road swing tonight with a matchup against the Kingston Frontenacs at Slush Puppie Place. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. as Sarnia looks to bounce back from Thursday night’s 7-4 loss to the Peterborough Petes.
The Sting opened the regular season with a 4-3 comeback victory over the Soo Greyhounds before falling to Peterborough in a high-scoring affair. Easton Walos led the way offensively for Sarnia with two goals, while Tyler Challenger and Brenner Lammens each recorded their first goals of the season. Adrian Sgro also picked up his first career OHL point with an assist.
Captain Alessandro Di Iorio returned to the lineup against Peterborough following NHL training camp and recorded an assist. The Sting also saw contributions from Cole Emerton, Jack Van Volsen, Logan Hawery and Matthew Manza, who each recorded a helper.
Despite the result, Sarnia generated 42 shots on goal and will look to carry that offensive pressure into Kingston. Goaltender Ivan Tkach-Tkachenko made his second career OHL start, turning aside 36 of 43 shots.
Kingston enters tonight’s matchup looking to make an impression on home ice in its first Friday night home game of the 2026-27 season. The Frontenacs’ young lineup includes 2025 first-round selection Aleks Kulemin, who recorded 31 points in 57 games during his rookie season and became an important part of Kingston’s young core.
For Sarnia, tonight provides another opportunity to build on its opening weekend while continuing to establish its identity with a young group. The Sting will look to limit the defensive breakdowns that proved costly in Peterborough while generating another strong offensive attack.
