Sarnia Sting Acquire Brody Najim in Trade with Saginaw Spirit
The Sarnia Sting are proud to announce the acquisition of forward Brody Najim from the Saginaw Spirit in exchange for Sarnia’s conditional 13th-round pick in the 2030 OHL Priority Selection.
Najim, a local product, joins the organization as a potential depth addition, providing flexibility and hockey I.Q. The Sting value Najim’s local Sarnia ties, competitiveness, leadership, and work ethic, and plan for him to keep developing and gaining valuable playing experience.
“Brody is a player that we see strong potential in,” said Sting General Manager Dylan Seca. “We believe that teams that are set up to be strong are going to need a variety of players at all positions throughout the course of the year. And this transaction gives us that added depth. Brody is also a local product, and someone we believe could have some upside in this league.”
The 18-year-old left-shooting center spent 20 games playing for the Saginaw Spirit in the 2025-26 season, before finishing the season in the GOJHL. Between the Chatham Maroons and the Komoka Kings, Najim garnered 16 points in 17 games played.
Najim will not begin the season on the active roster; instead, he will be reassigned, where he will continue developing and be monitored as a prospect who can provide additional depth and support to the organization throughout the season.
