Why I Do What I Do
My Blog: I write this blog because I want to share what I have learned and continue to learn on my journey towards one day playing professional hockey. I believe what I have to say is very versatile in that it can be used in everyday life and for people that have great huge or even miniature size goals they want to accomplish.
Team Events: I always think how cool it would be for me to be able to talk to Lance Armstrong or Michael Phelps. If people look up to us even half as much as I look up to my idols, we are making a big impact in their lives. It is the best feeling talking to people that truly care and are interested in what we have to say and that’s why I enjoy going out with the boys to schools, facilities and various local events. Its a great time with teammates and and even better time making people’s day.
HeadStrong: Plain and simple, I was given the best support and a miraculous recovery. If there is anything I can do to help others that may find themselves in a similar situation as myself to any degree, I am willing to do anything to help and that is why HeadStrong is so important to me.
Receiving The Humanitarian of the Year award is so humbling and at the same time so uplifting because it goes to show what I do is truly making an impact, what I’m doing has a purpose and that is the goal of the things I do off the ice and in the community.
