Game Recap: Rangers Win Overtime Thriller Over Saginaw Spirit
KITCHENER, ON – The Blueshirts gave the home crowd plenty to cheer about Friday night, battling back for a thrilling 4–3 overtime victory over the Saginaw Spirit at The Aud. Kitchener opened the scoring early, with Puglisi finding the back of the net on the power play to give the Rangers a 1–0 lead. Saginaw answered with two goals to take the lead, but Anstis responded later in the period to pull Kitchener even at 2–2 heading into the intermission. The Spirit regained the lead in the third period, scoring on the power play to make it 3–2. With time winding down, Santala came through for the Rangers, scoring with just under two minutes remaining to tie the game and force overtime. Just 10 seconds into the extra frame, Santala struck again, burying the game-winner to complete the comeback and give the Blueshirts a dramatic 4–3 victory on home ice.
