Day Two of 2017 Rangers Spring Camp
Rangers 2017 Spring Camp continued Saturday with a pair of practices and a pair of games; the first a meeting between Team Gibson and Team Landeskog.
Team Landeskog scored three-first period goals and Jacob Hearne was unbeatable in goal as Landeskog (1-0) skated to a 4-0 victory over Team Gibson (0-2).
Zac Sirota opened the scoring at 4:52 of the first period, with assists to Ethan Mulhearn and Eric Guest. They took a 2-0 lead just over five minutes later as Daniil Kuzmin tallied, unassisted, at 10:20.
After being awarded a penalty shot, Guest made it 3-0 with 1:02 to play in the first period.
Jack Tucker capped off the scoring with the lone goal of the second period, making it a 4-0 game at 1:43 with Ashton Stockie picking up the lone helper.
Anthony Tremonte manned goal for Team Gibson.
The game consisted of two-20 minute, stop-time periods.
In the second game of the day, Riley Damiani led the way with a pair of goals as Team Skinner improved their record to (2-0) with a 6-0 win over Team Landeskog (1-1).
Damiani took just nine seconds to give Team Skinner a 1-0 lead, assisted by Mike Petizian and Adrian Nabuurs. They would make it 2-0 before the intermission on a goal by Paolo Battistella, from Reece Bolton, at 12:18.
Alex Dominique would open second period scoring at the 1:13 mark, assisted by Ryan Mahshie and Reggie Millette to put Skinner up 3-0.
Damiani’s second of the night made it a 4-0 game, from Sean Kawalec, at 2:47 before Petizian added another to give Skinner a 5-0 lead at 9:15, from Ben Sheppard.
As the clock wound down Team Skinner added another, Petizian’s second of the night at 19:43, with the lone assist to Millette.
Doug Connor was in goal for Team Skinner, while Connor Hasley was between the pipes for Team Landeskog.
The game consisted of two-20 minute, stop-time periods.
SCHEDULE CHANGE: Rangers Spring Camp closes on Sunday, but instead of with a pair of games as was originally scheduled, a single game will take place with all players participating at 9am.
