KNIGHTS’ CHRISTIAN DVORAK NAMED CHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Arizona Coyotes prospect Christian Dvorak of the London Knights is the CHL Player of the Week after recording 12 points in three games including six goals and six assists with a plus-minus rating of plus-5 for the week ending December 14.
Dvorak recorded three multi-point performances last week helping the Knights win three straight games. He began the week earning back-to-back first star honours including Thursday night with two goals and two assists for four points in a 5-2 win over the Sarnia Sting, then collected a career-high five points on Friday in a 6-4 win against the Plymouth Whalers. In that contest, Dvorak scored his first career hat-trick which included the game-winning goal while adding two assists. His week wrapped up on Sunday with a goal and two assists and was named second star of a 5-2 win over the Peterborough Petes.
Dvorak, an 18-year-old from Frankfort, Illinois, is playing in his second OHL season with the Knights. Selected by the Coyotes in the second round of the 2014 NHL Draft, Dvorak is currently fourth in OHL scoring with 53 points in 30 games including 22 goals and 31 assists.
Also considered for the award this week was Alexandre Ranger of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens who scored four goals and three assists for seven points in two games, and Cole Sanford of the Medicine Hat Tigers who scored four goals and four assists for eight points in three games.
